Ethical Bone Jewelry
Raven Ranch Studio does not support animal cruelty for the sake of art. You can be assured that the animal bones cast from are collected ethically and responsibly. The majority of the resin replicas used have been cast from borrowed specimens from a local wildlife foundation in Minnesota. Some of our silicone molds for resin casting have been created from birds and small animals who have had unfortunate accidents with windows or cars. By casting replicas of these amazing creatures we feel as if we are giving them a second life and honoring their beauty.
Each handcrafted skull is a premium replica cast of a real bird skull. This allows us to offer a durable, cruelty-free alternative to wearing a real animal skull. Please do not ever buy real bird skulls from online sellers unless you can confirm they were not trapped or raised for the purpose of profiting from the sale of their parts/skulls.
Sustainability
Raven Ranch Studio skulls are made using natural bio-based eco-resin, which is a type of plastic made from annually renewable resources, an alternative to traditional plastic resins made from fossil fuels. Using this type of resin helps Raven Ranch Studio achieve our goal of having a lower carbon footprint by using bio-based resin made from ingredients that are currently considered waste.
